ELIL is an organisation providing free legal aid for asylum seekers in both Greece and Poland.
ELIL was inspired by belief in the fundamental importance of upholding the rule of law, protecting human rights and ensuring meaningful access to legal assistance. We believe that all asylum seekers should receive free legal support, from an independent lawyer, before their asylum interview.
We work in Greece and support refugees in Lesvos, Samos, Athens and Thessaloniki. We also work in Poland, providing free legal assistance to refugees crossing the Belarus border and those arriving from Ukraine. Since 2016, we have assisted over 42,000 people, including 9,000 children.
